Important Note:   As many of our close customers know, Dan has been suffering from a chronic illness that has caused repeated bouts of bronchitis, strep throat and pneumonia.  This is why Dan has not been in the store as much and why he is no longer playing paintball on the weekends like he use to.  In fact, Dan has been sick in bed more times then he has been out of bed this year.  Here are the facts, X-Treme Tactical Leases a building From James "Jimmy" Guy owner of Guy Properties.  Close to 2 years ago the stores main water line broke and flooded the store.  Guy properties replaced the hose but never repaired the damage in the walls.  Since the "repair",  some months X-Treme Tactical's water bills have been in excess of 1450 gallons a day.  The store continues to flood and we continue to complain to Jimmy Guy.  His response is that the employees must be flushing the toilet to much.  Anyway, a long story short A week ago we found Several species of Toxic airborne Molds all throughout the building.  6 Major Toxic Molds In All.  These molds are known to cause all the symptoms that Dan has been experiencing plus a whole lot worse.  Dan is currently undergoing treatments to see the extent of damage that has been done to his lungs.  Due to the risks involved in breathing this stuff,   X-Treme Tactical's Store is now closed.  When and if Dan heals enough to want to open again we will post it here.  Please consider Dan and our family in your prayers.

Update:  June 24th 2009

We are now fully moved out of the store and all the legal "Mold Tests" have been completed.  Jimmy Guy owner of Guy Properties continues to try to hide the existence of Highly Toxic Molds in the building.  To bad for him we had a bunch of State agencies check stuff out and complete tests before we moved.  As for Dan's health, he had a mild stroke on June 11th and continues to expel blood and black "mold" from his lungs.  He is under Doctors care at this point and at least now the Doctors know why he is sick.  He gets out of breath simply by talking.  (Note to anybody who ever goes thru this, Doctors do not treat you for mold exposure problems unless you tell them you have been exposed to it, the symptoms are to close to other viruses.) As for our children that we home schooled at the store, they are currently experiencing only mild symptoms and are being monitored. 

Update: September 30th 2009

Dan is seriously ill.  He has spent more time at Doctors and Hospitals and in Ambulances then at home.  His Liver is now starting to fail, his spleen is double the size it should be, he has toxic mold in his blood, he has seizures and blackouts as much as 10 times a week.  He currently has 5 specialists Doctors plus a family Doctor working on him.  Some days he can't remember where he is and who he is.  Doctors have stated that Dan faces years of fighting this illness.  We further regret to inform you that our IT Manager Josh is suffering from the same illness as well as another employee and one of our children have started showing the signs of it.  At this point 3 out of 4 employees who worked in this building owned by Guy Properties are now ill.

Update: January 17th, 2010

I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long, but our lives have been changed forever and it really hard to deal with, no less talk about.  1st of all thank you to all who have written to us I hope to respond to all of you soon.  Since the last post 18 year old Jeremy has began showing signs of injury due to the Toxic Mold and is now under Doctors care,  our IT Manager Josh has now been put on permanent SSD Disability at age 26, he will never be able to work again.  Dan who NEVER smoked has now been diagnosed with emphysema, he gets out of breath just talking.  He also has neurological problems, Heart Problems, Bad Liver, Bad Spleen,  Nerve damage, Severe Arthritis, and a shopping list more.  He has been told he probable will never be able to drive again and based on Doctors orders, he is on schedule to be placed on permanent SSD Disability.  He currently is attending 4 Doctors a week on average, which I of course drive him to.  Due to his inability to pass air through is damaged esophagus, Dan is scheduled to have his tonsils' and adenoids' removed as well as laser removal of the back of his tongue and other areas of the throat to allow as much airway as possible.  He is scheduled for a Liver biopsy, a lung biopsy, Spleen biopsy and a biopsy of the adrenal glands.  

You never realize how short life really is, Dan and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary last year while he was in the hospital, When we were married, we planned to grow old by each others sides, building one of the realist paintball fields in the country, now 2 weeks ago our family Doctor sat Dan and I down and gave us that special talk that as humans you hope to never experience, the short version of this long emotional talk was if you ever wanted to do something in your life, or if there was something you always wanted to say to someone, don't wait do it now before its to late.  Dan's illness has already turned and now shows signs of Tumors and Cancer in his Bone Marrow.  Doctors say he is becoming autoimmune similar to Lupus. 

Meanwhile to our knowledge, NC and all the State agencies' involved with testing this building have done absolutely nothing so far and after James Guy spent his long nights working on this building himself after hours (yes Jimmy our friends did film it) covering the mold with layers of fresh paint and removing the carpets and ceiling tiles, he as before is trying to rent it to the next unsuspecting family business that comes along.
